so i have had my S3 for ohhhh. about 3 or 4 years now. i always figured thte lens would go first since it has gone swimming in salt water a few times and grinds when it goes in and out. BUT to my suprise now it wont read memory cards, has anyone had a similiar problem and possibly know of a solution, or can i use this for the excuse ive been needing to buy my Nikon DSLR ive always wanted?

Will it record images to a card?

My S3-is was dropped hard to the ground and had the same problem. It took a pic but wouldn't play back from the memory card. I decided to repair it, (which cost $150 or so) and the shop found a defective circuit board.

There are a lot better cameras these days. I recently bought a replacement for mine....a G10.

Personal choice whether to upgrade or not. If you can afford it, then go for it.
