I have a S90 and love it. Great little camera. The S95 is essentially the same. You'll love it!

I picked up the S95 a few weeks ago. Have only used it for snapshots but I like it so far. Took a couple quick landscapes the other night at was impressed with the shots coming from a p&s camera.

Fantastic shots! I'm excited to get as good, or better, photos than my old G9 gave in such a tiny package!
I just missed a sale for $349 with a 4gig card so hopefully this Friday there will be some other sort of killer deal. :sombrero:

Not that I really care. I just wanted to make myself wait to get it instead of impulse buying it. No matter what the price is I'm going to order it by next Monday!

OK, I am clueless when it comes to digital cameras
My last one I bought was the Sony DSC H-9.

Bought it when it hit the market a few years back, and it was considered to be pretty good.
Takes decent videos, lets you play with camera settings, but I shoot it in automode, as I am not really up on changing the settings.
It too has a 3" LCD screen that can tilt up which is very useful.

I do know that is it not a DSLR, and I am not really sure what that is.
I said I did not know much about these.

I want better pics from my camera, would this new S95 be a good camera to get?
Can you shoot in automode and expect good pics?

I am going to be reading a few of the reviews on it now.
Would this Cannon be a much better upgrade being only 10. megapixel verses the 8.1 of my H-9?

Don't worry about the megapixel. It has little to do with picture clarity and color. The s95 is amazing because it gets DSLR like quality from a tiny compact. The camera gets the same photo quality as the famous g series Canons. All of my photos from the last couple of years were from my Canon G9 which is small compared to a DSLR, but a brick compared to this S95.
I'll post some sample pics when I get mine.

How does the S9 compare to it?
Or is that to much of a camera for someone who wants to leave it in automode most of the time?

I checked out that camera at a local shop here. Amazing setup. One thing though,whatever happened to viewfinders? Today,I was using my Canon A3100 IS and facing into the sun and squinting trying to make out the image on the LCD screen. At least with a viewfinder you can peer into it and see what your shooting.
