turned out really nice. Who ended up fabbing it up for you? Or did you do it yourself? Did you make that out of Gasmans specs or something else. I have to do the same thing, and I really like how yours turned out. What do you think it finally came out on weight?
x2 looks really good. i would imagine the 2 piece design would also add some strength there which eliminates the need for a support underneath , thus giving you more room for the bigger items , sometimes (not very often ) that support bar under my lid gets in the way, good job !!
Castle Fabrication in Lake Forest did the work. Owner John Roohk really does nice work! Design was my wish for the lid to completely mirror the tub, right down to the 1x1 tube around the perimeter and the 'imitation being the better part of flattery' design of the lid in two parts from Martyn at AT. The skill and was all John's! Castle Fab had actually just finished some very nice work on JDHolder's Chaser and it was at the shop when we discussed options for my lid. Ease of fabrication in halves was a contributing factor too!
There is no add'l support on the lid outside the perimeter tubing and the halves bolted together down the middle. You can walk on it! All the seems are sealed with silicone.
