******** Cepek Tyres

Hello,

I am currently searching for a tough, durable and reliable tyre for driving on rocky pistes and on snow/ice.

The tyres should be between 35" and 38" and fit a 16.5" rim.

I now came across the ******** Cepek Mud Country and the FCII, which are both siped and was wondering if anyone out there could share his/her experience?

Not sure where you live, but if you are near Les Schwab Tire Centers, that is where I got my ******** Cepek Mountaincats at.
They are a mud/snow tire that are also studable.

They are very similar to the Toyo Muds, and a few others like Pro Comps.
I was told they are pretty much all made by one big company, then the names get put on the tires.

Not sure if they come in your size, but I have a feeling they do.

Here's a recent tire thread where a couple of us where comparing experiences with a couple of different tire including the ******** Cepeks.

I've run a couple of sets of DC FCIIs and have been very pleased with them and highly recommended them as a great all around tire.

I have FCIIs on my Jeep. I bought it used with 33x12.50-15"s FCIIs and won't replace them with another pair of FCIIs. I find them to be too stiff in the sidewall (people following me saying things like "Did you air down? Those tires aren't flexing very well.") Even when aired down to 11 PSI, they don't seem to flex enough. I will replace with Goodyear MT/Rs when the time comes. They are an incredibly tacky tire with great flex. If you are doing a lot of sand driving the DC FCIIs might be a decent choice.

well I am looking at mostly bad, unpaved roads and a lot of snow and ice, probably 60% of the 20.000 miles will be off the paved roads.

35" would be the smallest tyre I am looking for and 38" the largest. Anything bigger would fit, but I can buy them localy if really needed.

I ran 35" FCIIs on my 05 Dodge diesel and they were not as good as I thought they would be in snow. Possibly a width issue, but I would not recommend them for mainly snow. I also thought they wore out quickly too. Mounted on a heavy rig though... Not a bad tire but I will look elseware for my next set!

Hmmm.. I had the exact opposite experince. Running 33x12.5x17s on my '01 Ram they were the best snow tire I've used and I got over 52,000 miles out of them. They do like to be rotated often though. Liked them a whole lot better than the BFG ATs I use to run.

Ditto on the DC fc2. I love these tires and have them on my superduty and on my DD samurai. I will buy a set for my cherokee. I didnt have any problems in the snow but that was my experience.

another good snow/ice/mud tire is the interco trxus mt's. I run them in the 255-85 variety on my 4runner and have yet to have issue with them in any conditions. just throwing that out there for you to consider as well.
