Changing out fans in dometic cfx3 fridges

I originally posted this in the "mega thread" but that threat is a bit big and not specific enough so thought I'd start my own thread 😉

I've got two cfx3 95dz and one cfx3 55. We live in northern Australia and it's very hot and 100% humidity and all three fridges struggle (understandably) so I'm thinking what I can do to help them out and am thinking of swapping the fans out with high powered ones from "the cooler guys" ad their fans are great. I was thinking to just take the old ones out and wire the new ones in the same spot. Can anyone see any issues with this?

Cheers!
Nic

I don't have an answer for you, but I'm curious to know as well after reading this post. Not that the temps where I am match yours so much, but I'm all for helping these run more efficiently.

Cool. Well I'll let you know. I've just ordered some high output fans to have a go. The only issue I can potentially see is the increased power pull of the fan through the controller. I think.it jumps from 0.15A to 0.75A, which isn't much, but might matter? Although the other side of it is the fridge will get colder faster so use less power in that sense. I'm surprised I couldn't find anything online about anyone doing this already...
