It's time to start a new project truck so our rig “Felix” is up for SALE...
This 1996 Ford F350 with the bombproof International 7.3L diesel motor will take you anywhere from Tierra del Fuego to Tok, Alaska and back. A great combination of capability, reliability, comfort, simplicity and quality hard to beat at this price. Like the truck, the custom Callen Camper is set up for overland travel and total off-grid boondocking. Meticulously maintained inside and out, I think it’s one of the cleanest F350’s on the West coast. We are non-smokers and do not own pets.
I am the second owner of both the truck and camper, although purchased from two different parties. I have had the truck in my possession for 4 years and the camper for 6. It’s been a great overland vehicle and has taken us on many fishing and surf exploration trips to Baja. It has been maintained well and has a laundry list of mods, from a heavy duty suspension, to a 45 gallon aux fuel tank, to full camper build including but not limited to an ARB 12V fridge, 240W Solar System, house battery system, Formica counters, Fiamma F45 awning, walk-able roof rack and LED lights throughout.
The odometer reads just over 193K on it, but it is far from tired. These PSD diesels go for 400K when properly maintained. Many parts have recently been replaced including the water pump, A/C compressor, alternator, idler pulley, belt tensioner and serpentine belts totaling over $2000 in parts and labor. Oil, Transmission fluid, Filters and chassis lube serviced on Feb. The upper and lower ball joints were done in 2013. With almost 60 gallons in fuel capacity, the truck has nearly a 1000 mile range fully loaded. Anything that has required maintenance or replacement, we have taken care of with Ford MotorCraft OEM parts.
The 7.3L Power Stroke Turbo diesel is all stock sans the addition of a Riff Raff 6637 Intake kit. It has never been “chipped”, programed or performance tuned. We chose to keep everything stock for engine longevity, reliability and to make sourcing OEM parts in far-away places easier if needed.
I will separate the chassis and camper but discounting the package for someone looking for a complete unit. Freshly serviced, detailed and ready for your next adventure... Truck $12,000 – Camper $8,800 – Complete Unit $19,000
Also open to trades or partial trades on a 100 Series TLC
Vehicle conveniently located in Los Angeles, CA and I am more than happy to meet potential buyers at LAX International airport.

The Callen Camper Co. was a family of Baja enthusiasts with a Desert Racing background. Callen’s contain no wood in the sub-frame and are built to flex when traveling off road. They will not rattle apart like other “LANCE style” products on washboard roads or off- camber terrain. Since our trips were mainly focused in off-grid locations for weeks at a time, there is no bathroom and we run solely on 12V solar power. However there is a shore power hook-up and interior 110 plugs. There is also no sink or grey water tanks in the unit. However, there is space to add a sink next to the stove top. I have a swing out bunk to accommodate an extra person or two in the isle but it is currently not installed. An extra wide RV door allows enough space for easy bicycle or motorcycle access inside and at only 82” wide, the camper’s narrow profile allows travel on jeep roads.
Overall, the paint is in very good condition however the clear coat is starting to peel in a couple spots. (see photos) The windshield has a fog on passenger side but has been like that since I purchased the vehicle. It does not affect vision. (see photo) There are some paint chips and a small scratch or two consistent with any vehicle. A section of the pinstripe is peeling. (see photo) Driver’s side rear bumper is dented. (see photo) Interior is in excellent condition. No tears or fading. Split 40/20 bench seat w/ center console and power lumbar support.
Mechanically, the truck is solid. No leaks or drips. The only things that need attention are an inner tie rod boot that is torn and currently the cruise control is not functioning but I have an appt. to have it checked out.
We set “Felix” up for remote backcountry trips in difficult to reach places although I guess it would be just happy in a KOA Campground too. Please feel free to ask questions about anything above or something I didn’t address and Thanks for looking…
