I just got a wouxun kg-uvd1p dual dand handheld. So far I am very impressed. It got a few better reviews than some others.

Check out the reviews here.

I got it from universal radio and it came with a programing cable and software.

A bonus is that you can use the supplied software to Both program and to open up to 136-174 and 420-520.

I will report back after I use it more.

+2 on the Wouxun, is an excellent radio, use it all the time when not in the truck!

I'm sure that you mean "opening" those frequencies for RX-only since transmitting on Part 90 frequencies without an appropriate license is illegal... ;)

I've got an FDC FD-160 2m and am fairly pleased with it. Getting it set up was an adventure, but once figured out it's a nice little radio. The expanded RX is nice for picking up local police chatter and weather.

I too am intrigued by the mobile Wouxun dual-band unit and actually reserved one on the site.

Any update on these? I very interested if anyone has tried the KG-UV920R mobile unit yet?

It's going on 9 months. There has to be some sort of update on a Wouxun mobile unit. If not they are probably coming out with something else.
