Thanks texasnielsen for clearing that up.

BTW, nice Conqueror. I've been debating if I should jump on that deal but just not sure if trailer camping is my style.

Well, ours showed up yesterday (day late as UPS forgot to put it on the truck Thursday). Well packaged and arrived without an damage. Plugged it in and everything worked right out of the box. Very quite I must say. So far I have to say I am very happy with the decision to buy this model at the price paid.

Testing the unit since last night, we set the temp at 32*. At that setting the readout is showing the inside temp bouncing around 27-29*. Not sure if this was accurate, I grabbed my IR temp meter and it was showing 27.4* with the outside display showing 27* so it seem the display is accurate. This would indicte the set temp and real temp to be off a few degrees.

We are currently testing the fast freeze mode now and will post up results. I want to do a few more tests to check the accuracy of the set temp to actual temp and will post up what I find.

Can't wait to get out for our first trip with it.

I'm seeing $395.10 shipped this morning.
Wife is semi-enthused; we'll decide this afternoon after measuring the back of the trailer.

What about the 63? That's alot more size for another $130...... ....and it doesn't draw that much more amperage....

Just ordered a 43.

No more ice cubes...

Actually... no more melted ice cubes!!! In fact, you can even produce ice cubes!

Since I am the original poster I am amazed at all of the activity and I will be most interested in long term reports of quality and performance.

Fine arrived fully functioning and I'm looking forward to dry food. :victory: The clasp for the lid is a little loose but I don't think that's going to cause any problems. The handles seem to be sturdy enough to use for tie-downs.

I'll prepare a dry-food report later in the year...

Cheers,
Graham

My wife has been running her Edgestar 24/7 for a week now set at 36 degrees. The days this time of year here in FL average 75-85 and the nights are 50-60 average. It sits about 15 hours at a time overnight and she drives short trips all day every day while doing home health. It is in a Jeep Liberty with an Optima Red Top battery and it is always outside. So far so good, starts every morning with no problem. We'll see how it does this summer.

Mine arrived as promised on Monday; I've had it running since then, conducting the usual experiments...
Infrared confirms thermostat integrity, it's quiet enough. I'm going to plug it into the trailer this morning and see how long it goes.

Says not to use it as a "fridge" if the outdoor ambient is below 41f. Suppose at that temp you could just turn it off anyhow... ...or run it as a freezer? But who wants frozen eggs?
What's everybody else do? Or do you stay home when it's cold out? :coffeedrink:

Good info in here!! I was about to purchase an Engel for a 2wk road trip this summer, but it looks like I will be getting one of these, and putting the extra money toward other mods!

Thanks!
