Chevy/GMC 2500HD tie rod linkage on a 1500?

Weighing my options for beefing up my tie rod linkage in a 1500 and I am wondering if a 2500HD linkage is adaptable. The HD inner tie rod threads directly into the center link and so the center link would have to fit before anything else can be checked out.

I tried comparing the two center links but I can't find an auto supply warehouse that carries one (HD c.link) and all the salvage yards cut the center link when disassembling :( so no dice.

Any info. much appreciated.
Thanks.

the parts dept. at a chevy dealership should be able to help you. don't get your hopes up that it will work though.

if you had access to a welder, you could just slide some DOM over the outers and weld it up. IIRC, it's the outers that tend to bend.

Cyclic,
Well ... there they are! All I could find were 2500HD sleeves. Thank you!
Still wondering what DOM stands for ... :snorkel:

"Drawn over mandrel" it's a type of high-strength steel tubing. there's also HREW (hot rolled electric welded) and REW (which is really CREW or cold rolled). DOM is typically the strongest, but some REW is stronger than some DOM.

anyway, that's more hassle than you need. just get those HD sleeves for $95/pr.

Thanks.
You know, the picture they have on the Nor Cal looks like a HD tie rod linkage.
I have the split tie rod adjuster with and inner and outer tie rod threaded into it. What is pictured doesn't look like it would work ... does it?
Thanks
