Chinese not interested in Hummer

Why are the Chinese auto makers not interested in purchasing the rights to the Hummer from GM?
Could it be because they already make clones/copies/rip-offs of the basic Hummer design?

Here's the Dong Feng Brave Soldier:

A close look at a different photo that shows this vehicle head-on makes me think the Brave Soldier has portal axles.

I thought this one was a complete rip-off from top to bottom, but AMG (not GM) makes/sells their chassis to many manufacturers. Not sure about the dong.

As far as the Hummer name, GM leased it to make the H2 and H3. GM had nothing to do with the H1 except the marketing/sales in the latter years.

I believe that Dong Feng builds a 5.9L cummins engine under a license from Cummins. Drive yer Dodge to China!:victory:

I've know that AMG has put a few cummings into their test h1's, but that was over a year ago so I don't know exactly what they were testing It's a far superior engine than the 6.5. I bought my hummer with a blown 6.5td (common problem for 6.5 turbo diesels from 96 to 2000) and replaced it with a new 6.5td (better block casting...so I was told). So far so good, but I wish I knew what I know now and just put in a cummings or d-max (though I like the cummings better).
