Class Action settlement RE: Pathfinder/Altima/Sentra Power Valve Screws

Anyone else get this notice? Nissan will reimburse those that lost engines or repaired them due to the power valve issue if it happened within 12 years or 120,000 miles.

I got that too - but nothing for those of us who haven't suffered the engine damage yet. I wish they offered to do the repairs free of charge if the truck falls in the VIN# range regardless of the mileage/years etc.

Too late I'd say. The people I know who had issues with it and had to replace their motors, have gotten rid of their cars a long time ago.

Maybe a bit OT but is there a preventive fix for this issue?

Yes, you can pull to the top end apart and loctite all power valve screws after confirming they're all still in place.

So if this happened to me at 140k miles I'm out of luck? That's pretty ridiculous.

Happened to me at 106K on 11/26/17. OR purchased so it didn't apply anyway. Cost me a pretty penny. Really destroyed my opinion of Nissan. Wish I had known in time to do the preventative fix.
