Wow! I havent visited this site in a few months and you went and changed it even more.. I love what you did with that 6 speed. I am turboing mine so I got a driverside diff Ford D60, I wish the lt230 was driver drop. I dont know what transfer case im going to use, I plan on using an NV4500. I dont want chaindrive and cant afford an Atlas.

What did you use for the clutch pedal/master cyl? Rover or GM? Also how did you do the clutch slave cyl?

I see you get 25mpg what size tires do you have? I have got a best of 27mpg with my 94 Blazer with 4l80e 3.73s and stock 32s, I was going 65mph with the cruise and AC on. I bet my truck is more aerodynamic than yours and it only weighs 6000lbs. When I had the 32s 70mph was at 2000rpm. I have 33s on it now, I get less mpgs now also best Ive got since was 25mpgs.

Yes I got 6 speed viper trans Now. Everything used as far as clutch. master.pedals etc. All GM. Bolt on parts. If u can use lt230 on ur project it will be sweet they r very strong durable units. I wish I could put Dana 60 on my rover. Because the original land rover duff's and axles are just trash.

I.have.31 inch tires. If I drive on 6th gear at 75 mph the RPM is at 1750 that's were over 25 MPG comes. But the motor without Turbo doesn't have enough torque. For the 6th gear all the time. So Turbo will be just awesome
Or I may supercharge it. This summer

Its.amazing that even over 300 lb torque is not enough for the 6th gear. Vipers are 600 hp so I guess it's time for supercharger.

You could use a GM d60 they are pass side diff. You can also use a centered rear diff, you might need a cv on the front of the rear drive shaft, but people do it.

But really unless you plan on huge tires tons are not necessary, and would only drag your mpg down. Im gonna run 42s so thats why I got tons. Im just gathering parts now, some year I will have everything.

Also I think a huge mpg gain for you would be to do the 2wd conversion on the lt230, and locking /freewheeling hubs on your Rover axles (if the make selectable hubs for them idk). For this you could always swap to Toyota minit-truck axles, I think they are stronger and more reliable than Rover axles anyways. Same story as above though with the center rear diff.

Is it possible to make selectable 2wd. Lt230?

If you get lucky, you can find a '74-'79 Jeep J20 3/4 ton with the auto and Quadratrac that would have a rear Dana 60 offset to the passenger side. IIRC, the rear 60s on manual transmissions in those years were also offset. I guess 131 inches of wheelbase make driveshaft angle less of an issue. Barring that, you could get a Dynatrac 60 built to your specs. Spendy, but really not all that bad considering what you get.
