Great write-up! Next time you come up to Tahoe, there is a great place to camp next to Prosser lake, right off the end of the street from my house. No one around!

The higher elevation portion of the second link is a hiking trail and cannot be done in a vehicle. The actual driving trail is shown in the link and follows the dirt trail along the red line and then north of the read hiking line (purple track). Just pointing that out as the distance and time needed is more than it would be in the link.
