Clint's Lost ZJ trailer set-up

Just wanted to post about my ZJ and Adventure Trailer setup some of you might enjoy. It’s a 1994 Grand Cherokee. I have a lot of the specs on my own website if you want more details in the “Tech” section and “The ZJ” section. My website is at http://www.lostzj.com

I’m running 4.6 Golen Stroker engine with all kinds of other mods as well in the engine. The lift is a modified 4.5” Rubicon Express. I’m running a Ford 8.8 rear axle and an HP 30 front axle, both with 4.56 gears and ARB Lockers; 231 transfer case; Warn hub conversion; Mickey Thompson MTZ’s, 35X12.5X15 on American Racing Outlaw II wheels. You can find a lot of the other mods as well as the GPS system on the website, just too many to list here.

The trailer is a 2006 Chaser model Adventure Trailer. Running the same wheels and tires; EEZI-Awn king size tent; solar panel; battery system; Nose box, water and fuel tanks, LED lighting system, Engel 45 refrigerator/freezer; kitchen system and shower. I also had the trailer color matched to my jeep. The trailer works great off-road and will go anywhere my jeep will. I use it 20 days out of the month for my work and it is a great set-up for the work I do. A real “home away from home”.

I’ll post a few pictures and try to follow up with more later.

Nice set-up!!! The question of the day is what kind of job lets you wheel & camp 20 days out of the month!!!! I think about 90% of us on here are looking to be your assistant!!!!

Cheers!

OK, I visited your web-page so I got the job part figured out! Do you need an assistant? :wings: It will be a long commute for me from VA!

I do GPS and map work for the BLM and Forest Service. Get to see some very cool and remote locations. Lot of fun. Lot of work too. Working and camping in the very cold and the very hot. Sounds glamorous...but, not so much. Sweat dissolves glamour. Later...Clint

The 4.6 does as good or better than the stock engine on fuel. It has a ton more torque and does a lot better pulling a trailer and seems to not have to work as hard in general. Works Outstanding off road for sure also. Later...Clint

Very nice setup!

If you ever get over to south central NM drop a note. I'm dying to get out and remote camp that area.

Any mods needed to the computer or did it just recalabrated to the bigger engine? Do you guys do smog checks in AZ? If so, any difference in smog readings? I know externally there would not be any way to know it's a 4.6 over the 4.0.

I would like to do a 4.6 conversion in my Cherokee, to help a little with all the mountain driving I end up doing to get anywhere outside of San Diego. If as good or better mileage, that's a bonus. Thanks for any info.

Nice setup!!! :26_7_2:

4.6 conversion

since the computer is a '94 model it is not a learning computer. I added an adjustable map sensor and can take care of all tuning with the map sensor. I also ran a 24# injector, a larger RE throttle body and a set of Banks headers.

Clint's shop

The shop is done and gets used every time I'm home. Always things to repair or upgrade...Later, Clint
