Cloud storage wars

Storing data in the cloud is asking for trouble - especially when it's not available.

That said, people that don't take responsibility for their own digital assets reap what they sow.
 
ownCloud allows a user to synchronize folder(s) on a computer with a server. Very similar to dropbox, except that the server is your own and no data is hosted on a tech company's servers. The function works very well since whenever your computer has a wifi connection then the files on your computer are backed up on your personal server.
 
Buffalo had something like that as well. I got 1TB of storage on Onedrive with MS office 365. I am making use of that. I think they are bumping up to 2TB soon for paying users of 365 soon too. Score.
