Co-opski, great truck!
Did you record the voltage drop prior to installing the headlight harness? Did it make a noticeable difference?
How much improvement have you experienced from the steering upgrades?

Unfortunately I did not record the voltage drop before installing the harness but once all the snow is gone in a few months I'll get those numbers and pm them to you and post them here. That harness was plug and play so to take it off is no big deal. It made a small noticeable difference but I plan on cleaning and renewing the sandblasted lenses this summer also.

The steering has been wonderful except for the Hoohaa Grassroots centerlink. It would loosen the castle nuts and rip the cotter pins off. I think I have it locked down nice and tight now. If I were to do it again I think I would put my money into Calmini or SLR steering. The only thing I have now to fix is the steering gear box is now worn with 205k miles and I may put a new power steering pump on the rig at the same time I do the gear box, as it is whinning.

Thanks. I measured a 1 volt drop on my 03, which struck me as low, but order a Daniel Stern kit anyway. Unfortunately 2 years later I still haven't managed to get enough motivation to finish building the harness.
Renewing the lenses should make a definite improvement. I did it at 185k and think it was fairly noticeable.

More tune up parts. NGK Laser Iridium (7994) sparkplugs replacing the tired NGK Iridium IX (5464) plugs, and NGK wires (8113) NX14, Hitachi or Bosch cap and rotor.
Thinking for the summer I may replace the BFG ATs with the Goodyear Duratracs in 235/85/16, Nismo exhaust, new Pinkerton windscreen, replace the Ranchos with Bilsteins all around. Then armor or a commuter car (like a cheap suby) as I just keep racking the miles on this beast, $500 in fuel last month.

And some more photos from McCarthy.

I love my Duratracs...even though the name sounds like a brand of something else lol

I highly recommend the Duratracs, and the Bilsteins! :sombrero:

Also, I wouldn't mind having the Veedub, or any of the old American iron seen on those streets... Betcha the van would start on the first go given a little tuneup.

Most of those trucks do run, in the summer.:sunny: The town only had about 6 people over wintering out there and they get around with their snowmachines.
More of my build to come.

Some parts came in, all made in Japan. So am I like Hella JDM 'illist now? :12_4_18:
Posting up pictures of part numbers and such. I also just got an AEM Brute-force Cold Air Intake, but I'm going to get a good base line with my tune up first with fuel economy (fuelly.com), and other data collected from my Scanguage II before I instal it.

Looking good

I should probably do my wires and cap as well

I did the spark plugs last fall....good luck with #6 haha....

You might use most of the u joints and extensions in your socket kit. My brother and I actually took the entire hood off to make it easier, still a pain in the ***. Way at the back against the firewall and you can't see it, all by feel

Whoever designed it surely wasn't the guy who was going to have to change them out.

Update for all you Nissan folks, I know our engines like Denso and NGK plugs, but wow! I put my NGK Iridium IV plugs in at 90k miles and just took them out and put in NGK Iridium Laser plugs in at 210k miles. The Iridium IV plugs didn't show much fouling at all and I could have kept going on them and just changed out the dizzy cap and rotor. Not bad for 120k miles.

Now if your heater or AC fan only works on #4 High or #0 off it is not the dial but the resistor on the fan under the glove box. I switched out the dial as it was a cheep part but that did not fix the problem so next was the resistor, before I pulled the whole fan out. New on the left and old on the right. I didn't think the smaller one would work but it did. 5 min job pulling the glove box and two screws.
