Hi everyone,
I thought I would start a post on our most current build for Off-road.com
This will be a multi part build with certain parts being highlighted in each article.
I also want to let all of you do it yourselfers know every thing you see on any CCV van can bought through ccv for your own build and installation.
Eric's goal for this van is to have an all around camper van that can be used to either haul his family to the beach for the weekend or to haul a couple of bikes and a friend or two to ride for the weekend. So his main goals are to appeal to family for short trips. In order to do this the van needed good ventlation, windows, fantastic fan, espar heat and ac. The van needs to haul up to four adults and sleep two adults and a couple of kids.
Eric chose a fixed hard top with a upper sleeping bunk and a couch that fold into a full bed.
The first stages are windows and a fantastic fan.

Heyduke,
The price totally depends on the options you plan to go with such as the style bed you choose with either top. But generally speaking a fixed roof and a basic pop top with out all the bells and whistles are pretty close in price. If affordable is what your after, when I get the time I started a simple do it yourself poptop that is pretty small and will fit any van roof that is the size of an astro or larger price should be under 3 grand installed. However those projects keep getting put on hold until I find someone serious enough to lay down some cash. In the mean time I have to stay focused on what is paying the bills.

If you get any pics of this 3 grand poptop, I'd love to see them.

Nice looking project on this one!

dsw4x4- You do amazing work!

I read the articles and looked at Fiberine's website but couldn't find the following:
1) Can you give approximate measurements of the top's length and width (at widest point)?

2) Any estimate of what the top cost, as delivered, from Fiberine?

When I Dynamated my bronco, I used 5 rolls. I just put each entire roll on the floor. I didnt cut it up like you are. That thing was super quiet. It was a little overkill and expensive.

KNTR,

That's a product called quietride, the reason for the strips is it does basicly the same thing as coving the enitre panel with just the strips keeping the weight down and cost. But after the Dyna mat is laid then comes a second layer of insulation that also helps with noise.
Great product!!!
