Compact deadbolt to install in vehicle door.

I read the article posted a few days ago about vehicle security and really like the idea of installing deadbolt locks, and specifically the type they used.

I have been searching for the past couple days and can't find any like this, I can't even find specifically what they are called or pics. They appear to be a european thing, closet term I found was nightlatch. Anyone able to help me out.

I had the same locks on my Nissan Patrol in Peru. It was a common lock upgrade.

Here you go - I fitted them to my ancient 110, and they fit perfectly.

Had a gremlin with one of them which I fitted to the 110 a few years ago - so have sourced a replacement set. Locks are very very good and not expensive and they fit a LR 110/90 doorframe very neatly (apart from hole on the outside obviously). However the maker has gone out of business but I found a place stocking the remaining few sets.

I got one pair ordered and there's at least one other pair remaining (two locks in a blister pack, keyed alike). If anyone is interested in grabbing them - this is the locks and supplier:

Gremlin that caused the old lock to fail is that there appears to be two grub screws in the rear of the lock that hold the body together - I suspect these are to allow the mechanism to be withdrawn to flip it and allow left/right operation without having to invert the key (if you know what I mean). Anyway these have fallen out of one lock and the mechanism has got messed up as a result. Otherwise flawless and simple operation.

PS the alloy plate with hole is simply to cover an existing hole that was drilled for an earlier deadbolt, and the keyhole for the later one I fitted is in a different place, so for a new clean install you'll only have a 3/8th inch hole which can have a little swivel-cover to go over it. I'll get round to fitting some at some point!
