Conqueror Conquest ....... new owner !

Hi ,
I have just brought a Conqueror Conquest camper , secondhand .........hopefully turns up next week .

Just wondering if there are any faults that I should look out for or any improvements that help them out .

I'm over in Aus , there isn't many Conquerors over here , they have only just started to sell them here . I like the look of them and they seem to be built with function in mind .

Any Photos? What year is it? I think that all ours here are 2002 model years. Mine is a Compact and I it.

things to look out for ?
depending on age ? replace the charging electric system fans every 4-5 years
the latches are kinda cheap and junky ? works but be careful with em dont let someone try to open them by pulling out on em

the water tanks and the filler are put together so you dont get all the water in them you can ? at least on ours ? the tube goes down into the tank to much

wiring !!! again our older ones had some bad wiring spots where it was pinched spots in the charging area where it could rub etc.. the lic plate light on mine was smashed between the tent pole box and frame ?

wheel bearings and some want to beef up suspension mounts as they have had failures

they are really not huge things and knowing everything I would buy mine again ! the function of getting into the trailer while kids are napping and great access great storage etc..
I do think its one of the better thought out camping setups around

Mine is about 6 years old , I think it is the older model , the one with the gas bottles at the front of the trailer and with leaf springs .

is your a compact or a conquest ?

the ccompacts have dif side latches so that part might not apply

Honu , its a conquest .

Cant wait to get it .......we already have a good camper , a Trackabout Safari , great camper but it just takes too long to set up , that was one of the main reasoons that we went for the Conquest . I had a look on as many of the oversea's sites and couldn't really find anything major having gone wrong with them , everyone seemed to have good reports about them .

good info their some of it not good on our setups ? but only cause of the customer service issues ? and a few things with the newer ones ? that said down their they are very very very popular and like you said really for how many very few people have had issues

I have close to 5000 miles with about a month under the tent on ours now and I am still loving it and plan on making it more MINE and doing a few things and still think its one of the best designs so not raining on it just sharing their are a few small issues

the one I have yet to address but the shock mounts I am going to beef up one person here had them break and at least one in SA on the other forum had them break ? so that is enough to beef them up !

again I would seriously say replace the fans in the charging setup in the nose cone since mine went and smoke poured out !!!!!! lucky we were their camping when it went
I use a honda genny to keep it charged up every few days

as you say and I say only small things

OH one other thing armor up the front gas can carriers ! notice the new ones are armored up
I had a scepter can and some road debris flew up and sliced it open !!!!!!
they are not protected properly I think after having had that issue
I also have one large dent fist size in my nose cone box from debris !
so I am going to armor the whole front or do the OZ screen thing I see a lot down their


we picked up some antislip stuff at costco its that rubber stuff that is kinda like mesh ? it helps keep the mattress from moving around as much ?
we also put some thermarest style pads under our foam and really made a huge difference
also its nice to know I keep our bags pillows and everything up their when we move camp and the cover still goes on just fine so makes setup for the base very very fast pull it open and you are done
