Have you washed it with Ali-Brite first? (phosphoric acid)

Yeah mick, but all the good acid has been taken off the market. Some b...sh... about safety etc etc. But i managed to track some down from a fire sale and have been persisting with that.

Not sure of availability in your part of the world, but on this side we can buy a "mag" wheel cleaner intended for non-clear coated wheels. I use it regularly on aluminum fabrications for final cleaning.

Hi Chocko,
I picked up so Ali-brite at Cairns Wholesale Paints a while ago for work, also there is a product Ranex, great on Stainless Steel, no sure on al though- the paint section at Spence st Bunnings know where it is.

I'll have a look at work and see what brand we use.

Thanks Wadey, but the stuff i used to get is really strong, like sting your nose type gear.
The Septone Alibrite runs off the vertical surfaces before it gets a chance to react.
If you could get a brand or something, that'd be very much appreciated Mick.
Thanks all,
Chock
