Do your self a favor. Call ABC trailers and speak to Randy. He will get you a brand new 3500 lb axle with build in zerk fittings so you can grease hubs without taking them apart and ship it all to you for around $150. Then you have a nice new axle with new seals etc and can grease them up in the future.

I also went SOA for height to put my 33" tires on and really like it.

That set up is not military. Not the axle and not the hubs. At least none that I have ever seen.

If I can be of any help let me know.

Also if you need any other suspension parts, springs, shackles, bolts, shocks etc let me know I have all the part numbers and all the phone numbers for who you can call. I just went completely through my M416.

I concur...i think that's great advice..you don't want to experience axle failure at any speed.

I agree that ABC Trailer can hook you up at a good value. My 3500-lb. axle from ABC, which included Ultra Lube spindles (+$10) and custom spring perch width (+10) was about $165, IIRC.

I agree, That's way to lite weight to be a mil anything sans maybe hauling something real lite around a flight line. I'd replace the axle too. You could have probally bought a new axle for what you spent on spacers. Other than that it ought to work out good for you.

Sounds like I need to do some axle shopping. Redneck Trailer is located here in my home town. Anyone have any dealings with them? I’m not sure they are willing to do custom stuff (spring perches, etc….). Looked around ABC’s website and seems pretty straight forward. I like the idea of customization for not a lot extra. I need to do some careful measuring but I wonder if I could go with a wider (longer) axle, custom welded spring perches, and eliminate the wheel spacers all together? Thanks for the feed back.

Take your measurements carefully and Redneck will custom order a 3500lb axle from Dexter built to your specs. I had a quote for mine recently, complete with Brakes and new Springs for around 220.00 IIRC

Good looking trailer. Are the sides Steel or Wood? They will also put whatever bolt pattern you want so spacers will not be necessary.
