CRL Window Install

I just bought a CRL window for my E350 van. I've searched here and watched some youtube videos on install. I don't see anyone using a sealant on the outside of the van when installing. I would've thought it would be necessary as my window doesn't have any type of gasket. Anyone have experience with this?

I used windshield adhesive when I installed mine, but when I found the same window in a junkyard van later there was no sealant whatsoever and there was no apparent leaking.
