Any time you can get more than one use out of a piece of kit then it's a big win. The Cruxoffroad.com ladders fills the bill. You can unbolt them and use the nuts, bolts and aluminum for field repairs or bolt a piece of U-channel to them and use them as trailer ramps. Mine started out as a 6' ramp I cut in half but after seeing these at OEX I'll buy them if mine walk off.
Here is the U-channel I bolted on to make them hook onto my trailers for use as loading ramps.
Something I got right was spending time designing my bed platform, drawer slider combo to accommodate the ramps. They fit right below the sliding drawer and I grab them to get out of the sand or snow really easy instead of waiting until I'm stuck worse. Do mark the ground with a line or a beer can so you know where you put them. Once you pull out the rear tire roost buries them. I've spent time digging around and hunting for them. The sand is especially hideous because it can look like nothing but roost going in and heading out. It all looks the same once you are out. You may have a 50' search area so mark the ground. I don't even want to think about searching for them under a foot of mud because they wind up deeper and off to the side more than you would think. Ladders of any brand are great so plan a build to fit them.
