Currently stranded in CO

Sucks man. Had something like that happened to us on Medano trail... truck would have stayed and we would have taken a bus back to DFW.........

Good luck at getting home on time!

instead of getting another radiator built is it not possible to go through the books and see if there is another rad that will fit your application. out of the thousands of rad designs there has to be something that will work. this way you have a component that is off the shelf and easy to replace with a part number if needed.

Sorry to read about your troubles this week...

Is there something about the orientation / dimensions of the 6.2 that prevents the OEM Disco rad from being usable? I would think it would cool well enough???

I ask because I have a couple used LR Original radiators taking up space in my garage and would be happy to let you have one fer nuthin'... except you'd need to pay for shipping or pickup. They do need reconditioning... Rodded or re-cored. They are both out of my '95 5 spd so they only have engine oil cooling fittings on the passenger side. The trans cooler is separate.

But then again you can pick up a NEW one for about $500 and a re-core is not much less than that... Anyway good luck with the trip home.

OEM is only a two core. I need at least a three core, preferably four. Thanks for the offer though!

Yeah, I may be able to find one that fits. The issue is the Disco has a very shallow frame to hood height. 17" tall core is the max I can fit.

I'm looking at side pass racing radiators from Summit. And I will definitely be running two electric fans with a shroud. This direct drive alum fan just doesnt drive the air I need for mountain passes.

Sven is correct. 4 core for an auto, 3 core for manual on DIs. The extra core for cooling the auto trans fluid through the radiator.

Lt.Fuzz: I gotta say ... you have maintained one of the best attitudes through all of this. Your attitude and your tenacity to persevere gets you a vote to be on the next Camel Trophy Team!!

Yes, car bra. I think they're called wading blankets.
See "LUKEY's" version of a wading blanket, may work for you next time.

I haven't found those to be necessary as long as the truck is set up properly. Land Rover provided plenty of fan clearance. I suppose it might make a difference how you enter the water too. Enter slowly so the fan can slow down, or splash down at high engine speeds.
