Custom Overland Gear for your truck or SUV- Cabinetry/Foldup Kitchen/Etc - What is the market missing?

Suggest you benchmark your competition. AT, Goose Gear, etc. Since you will be going toe to toe what will you offer that draws in a customer. Example GG's price for a base plate, two 23" wide 60" deep draws, and top plates is $4600
What would you offer that is equal quality lower price. If you build a model for each current supplier against your offering.
Cheers
Yes I understand the competition. I'm thinking goose gear/bed slide/decked hybrid. If you look at goose gear it has limited holes. I'm thinking holes everywhere to mount anywhere. Truck beds only first. Think wood carpentry vs high grade plastic. Only the bottom would be stainless steel and the top some type of rugged plastic cover. Itll be turning your bed into a massive drawer.

Is there anything else you think the market needs or a better cheaper version of solid quality via craftsmanship?

that you will be going only so far trying to set your company's business plan (not really the right term - but read on) by asking for "free advise". I understand you're trying to hit a niche market with something real people will buy, and do it better than the guys out there already are doing it. BUT - if you depend on your customers to design something it will not happen.

was it Marshall McLuhan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_McLuhan or perhaps PT Barnum that said "build it and they will come!" or maybe Nuckie Thompson. in any event, build the best YOU can and put it out there, and massage your product as the business blossoms. if you are meant for it, and vice versa, things will grow along. I understand expo west population doubled this year; must mean something $$$.

I'm merely wanted to scope the market to see if there was any need or desire that is going unfulfilled in the market that perhaps I can help contribute to. That was my only intention.

completely understood. but I think there's a better way and that's to build something and put it out there. the old "takes money to make money" thing comes to mind. you might have to build a couple of units which YOU think will work (based on research such as this thread) and either use them yourself of sell them for a break even (or a loss) just to get people to see your work and ideas.

I mean ,... most internet forums 'for sale' threads require a picture of the actual item rather than manufacturer's website photo. for the amount of $$$ invested in a cabinet system, folks will most likely like to see what they're getting.

not trying to poo-poo your initiative and willingness to provide a good product, but you did ask for "thoughts", and that was mine.

Perfect. This is the feedback I wanted. Much appreciated and yes I'm aligned.

I think it would be handy if the shower/sink were incorporated just to save space or for simplicity. A Y valve with a shut off to both lines would make it super easy. Unless you wanted to shower and make Mac and Cheese at the same time....
