Hey guys. Wanted to get some feedback on what you think my Rover is worth. It has been a very enjoyable vehicle and served me well on my travels. Definitely going to miss it but am ready to move on. Just trying to get a realistic idea of what it might be worth. Here is the description the best I can come up with.

'95 D1 with 180,000 miles. Professional 4.6 conversion done at 140,000 miles. 5 speed tranny. OME lift, ARB Bull bar, snorkel, wildernes systems basket, rear ladder, 235/85 BFG AT's with 40% left. Genuine Land Rover seat covers. Borla exhaust. New rear 3rd member, alternator, rear drive shaft, brake work, plugs, cap/rotor, plug wires

Front and rear AC work great, windows all work, front sunroof just stopped working, rear works fine. Interior is in great condition, driver's seat shows slight wear but not bad. The paint is faded on the roof and hood, the sides look good though. It has a large portion of it's service history documented including the rebirth of the whole truck when it was gone through at 140,000 miles. The truck is a strong runner but not perfect but was WELL loved. Previus owner bought it for 11k at 150,000 miles which I find pretty insane. It was owned and built to it's current state by Safari 4x4 in Denver (which no longer seems to be around).

Issues: front main seal leak, front sunroof inop, slight exhaust manifold leak passenger side, that's about it. I have a friend who is interested in it and I want to give him a fair/good price.

With the newer engine (not sure how many miles were on it before you put the 40k mi on the 4.6), you should be able to get minimum $2500 with out the front bumper, roof rack and lights. IF you can take those off and sell them seperately, you'll get more overall. The front main seal leak isnt a difficult fix like the rear main. You may want to have the front main and the exhaust leak fixed, which should enable you to get more than your repairs out of the sale price. Just a thought.

If I were in the market $3,000 tops, as is.

"Slight exhaust leak" is sorta meaningless without more info. It could be something as simple as needing a new manifold to y-pipe gasket, or it could end up needing a new manifold. Sometimes they are easy to replace and sometimes studs snap.
Front seal leak is a real downer, I'd fix it. It shouldn't be leaking after only 40k miles so it makes me wonder if anything else was overlooked on the conversion. On the other hand, you don't say if it was a rebuilt 4.6 or just a drop in with the 3.9 front cover installed.

Lots of DI's for sale here in the 2000-3000 range. I paid $3000 for a 1996 DI with 76,000 miles on it in pristine shape. I'd say your vehicle is worth somewhere between 2.5 and 4 thousand dollars, depending on how much value the purchaser places on your aftermarket modifications, and how bad the main seal is leaking.
I would jump all over that deal.

Side note, if anyone knows of a D1 in great shape for around the 3k mark, please let me know. Need to feed the addiction with a 4th rover...

$2,500-3 was what I was thinking so seems like I was in the ballpark. Thanks for the input. Manifold leak is at the juncture of the y pipe from what I can tell. They tore down the 3.9 and did a full rebuild to 4.6 specs and still runs all the stock accessories and components. I have the records for all the work down to it at the time. Pretty impressive, they basically went over the entire truck. It is a bummer about the front main but like someone mentioned, it's a pretty easy job. I am trading the truck to a good friend who has a shop as he is looking for a good trail vehicle to take his family out in in exchange for some labor I need done to my Land Cruiser that is above my pay grade ;-) I want it to be a good deal for him but wasn't sure what I was really worth as my ex wife left me the Disco to begin with. I know I will miss it, already having second thoughts! For the value they sell for and the enjoyment you get out if driving them, I still think a Disco or RRC can be one of the best values out there.
