D90 Tires

Looking to put new tires on the D90 (NAS) and have been going through the forums trying to figure out the best setup - right now I'm leaning towards keeping the stock size 265/75/R16 and trying either Goodyear Duratracs, Cooper St Maxx, or Toyo Open Country II. Would like to hear if anyone has thoughts on these tires especially in regards to buying a higher load range tire (E) vs. the standard load range.

The car sees lots of asphalt driving as it is our daily driver (lots of rain, little snow), forest service roads and light to moderate trails for camping.

Thanks for any input!

Might as well toss on some 285/75/16 size tires. They'll fit and look fine at stock height, although you may have to adjust your steering stops slightly. I'd highly suggest the Duratrac. Better performance than an AT without a loss in road manners

I'd just stick with the 265's. Any taller and you'll give up power - steering feel - general drivability.

We've had our '97 for 12 years...every time I start considering a tire size change I just drive the beater Disco for a few days ( 235/85s - 4.10s - taller springs) and all of a sudden the 90 is a pretty daily driver ;)

Thanks for the feedback - I'm going to stick with the stock size and am leaning towards the Duratracs (though the Coopers sound like a very solid tire)... I had heard that the E rated tires might be a better choice than the C on the Duratracs as the sidewalls are tougher so I'm still debating the load range.
