I need to do this with my led pods however I want my fogs on with my hi's as well..If you click on the hi's the fogs turn off with my factory setup..is there a way around that?
The idea behind that is you do not want a bunch of bright light up close to the vehicle as it will cause your pupils to dilate and screw with your night vision. Or at least that's my understanding.
That said I have a pair of 100w HIDs on my window pillar, and even with the glare I find it easier to drive with them on, then off.
Here's some more info on that.
Conclusions w.r.t. foreground lighting: It is not always obvious, even when you are driving, but lots of foreground light may make the beam look "even", but you actually want just enough foreground light to serve its purpose. Too much foreground light kills your night vision and your ability to see long distances. Some of the product you rated well, even the JW Speaker, look like they have a lot of foreground light. The problem is you don't really notice you lost your ability to see things in the distance.
