Well, Aluminess is still working on the bumper, but in other news....truck is in the shop.
I've done a few hundred miles, a quick trip out to Phoenix, etc., on and off since last report. It's been throwing intermittent DPF/DEF codes. They usually last a few miles, and then go away. Well, today it went from the amber ENGSYS and DPF amber warning, to an additional amber engine icon, and finally to a flashing amber/red ENGSYS with a tone. Holy screaming cats that was loud, luckily it didn't stay loud for long. I'm pretty sure I don't have permanent hearing damage. Well, fairly sure. maybe. Did I mention it's loud?
IAC, I was only about a mile and a half from a local service center, and I just drove it there. Weird thing was it didn't go into limp mode. Anyway, just as I drive into the service center yard, all the codes clear from the display. Sigh. I'm sure (well, fairly sure) they'll be able to pull them from the memory.
I left it there, but while I was there I was talking to one of the mechanics. He mentioned that there are two recalls they're seeing now, one is to do a simple non-corrosion coating on some of the turbo components, and one apparently replaces the DEF tank, sender, and possibly some harness bits. I remember that in the Tucson service center, they said they couldn't do anything about the DEF level indication malf on the display - according to them it was a calibration issue that the factory hasn't figured out yet (I thought this didn't make any sense, but it was a minor issue, and I had to get home, so I ignored it at that time).
So I'm sure I'll find out more next week, but hearing about the other two recalls makes me wonder how up to date the mitfusotech.com site is? Neither one of those were mentioned, but I guess they could have turned up in the last month or so.
