Still haven't unpacked the 4runner but I wanted to put out some "teaser" pics.

Full trip report should be out by next week, depending on how long the "honey-do" list is. :sombrero:

Yes, this trip had everything! Vistas, campfires, wild horses, home made pizza, aliens and, uh, clowns?

Hopefully that should hold folks over until I can get the full trip report out! :ylsmoke:

Martin - nice photos. Especially like the dry lake vista where you climbed the rocks.

Got home Saturday evening and have been busy unpacking and cleaning ever since. Expected to find my lawn two feet high but it was mostly dry and withered. Got my lawn sprinklers going for the first time and that took some doing as I had never had them before.

Uh, now back to more trip reports.

We made it home Sunday, late morning. Drove all day Saturday in the rain :(

Have unpacked, still cleaning... My lawn was way tall - cut it today.

I will try to go through photos this weekend.

Suggestion: how about we follow Martin's lead and do our after trip posting in the "Expeditions Completed" section. Keith said there were three threads going now but I have not found the third one. But anyway, I'd sure like to see more reports and photos. Please.

D all of the above, have yet to mow the lawn tho.. I made it home Sat. the 1st late PM cleaned the truck and my kit. I stopped in Grand Junction Co. on the way to Golden to see my son Brian and went to a Big"O" tire shop.. they found a gash on the inside of of my remaining AT's..... Sooooo for a "Fist full of dollars" I started over the mountains with 5 new "Cooper" brand USA made AT tires. I left the 2 new strew tires with the shop with the promise to give, not charge some one who needed tires but did not have the money to pay for them. Just my way to pay forward for ALL the help and support by ALL in our party when I had my tire fatalities..... I could have been "well and truly screwed" if not for everyones help, I could not have been with a greater group of guy's (and a lady) to be on our trip with!!!! Ran thru rain in Kansas 5 hrs ahead of the KC tornados and rain into Missouri other wis no issues. Great trip and some adventure! Many stories (Martins calf) the clowns.... glad I did not witness that... (I don't do clowns very well) I could not travel with a greater group of Guy's (and a Gal) Well worth my time and expense.... would not have missed this for anything!! Can't wait till next year, will do it again. Stay safe everyone and THANK'S again!!! Michael :sombrero:

Michael, glad to see you popped for 5 good tires. Can't go wrong with Coopers. After your bad experience with Hancooks if I ever see them on a trail again one of two things just might happen: he goes home or I do.

Mmmmm.... Yeah, the tires are "Big Foot" AT tires a size larger than before now 265 70/16 good tread kind of like the Hankooks which I did like, however they are sipped better and proved to be very well behaved in all the torrential rain I had to deal with on the trip home. They are ver quiet on dry pavement at 70 mph plus speeds as well, 50 k tread life, running 35 lbs in each tire. I'm happy with them. They are a tire made by "Copper" in the USA for "Big O discount tires" No more Korean crap for me! Michael

I injured my back Sunday AM so lots of time resting and keep returning here looking for more trip reports. We sure filled many pages in the planning stages but a little light on the reporting. Btw, earlier I did a report in the first thread before I noticed this one.

A few highlites for me: spending most of the day and the night in Delamar, lots to see there. Arriving in Gold Point in time for the Memorial Day Parade and dinner there in the saloon. Watching Kyla catch a goldfish in the water tank (I rescued it from her). The home made (camp made) pizza and other goodies from Scott and Laura. Keith's enthusiasm about all the wonders of the west. Frenchie's story telling, too bad he had to leave early. Lastly the camaraderie of the whole gang. Oh, and the great weather.

I apologize for not posting my pictures yet. I've been playing catch-up around here, and am getting a new roof today.

I will post a trip report. :)

How about Frenchy and Gary's reports? I know they both took lots of photos however I'm sure they have been busy catching up. I know I was having been gone from home 19 days. Still struggling to get my lawn green again.

Been looking at the Nevada Gazetteer to trace our route and found a note that I had visited an old graveyard April 2, 2007 and could not figure out why I would have been there so early in the year. In the past I've never headed west before the end of April. Dug out my journals and found that I was actually heading east after spending the winter in Baja. Went back to Kentucky to visit family, pay taxes, other chores, then turned right around and headed west again for the summer.

While studying Nevada maps I decided I'm going back soon to spend more time in the mountains. All those small mountain ranges are laced with back roads and almost no traffic based on what we encountered.
