Default 2005 Disco 3 (LR3) vs new Hilux Revo for overlanding

Hi all,

It happens that my parents want to join me and my GF on some overland trips. That will include mostly south and eastern Europe and Morocco.
They currently have a very good condition, stock, 2005 TDV6 Disco 3 (LR3). Never had any big repair, but received a new turbo and alternator last year.
They like it, it's crazy confortable and versatile, but they're skeptical of the LR reliability for overlanding, specially after their past Disco 2 TD5 and RR P38 experiences.

They were impressed by all the Toyotas I photographed on my Dakar trip so went to see a new Hilux Revo at a local Toyota dealer. They had a test drive and liked it a lot. The dealer offered a good deal.

So, right now, they have two options:
A) keep the Disco 3, spend 5 or 6K € to equip it and enjoy the confort and offroad abilities.

B) sell the Disco and some other car they have and buy te Hilux, then slap it with 265/75R16 tires, OME suspension, underbody protection and be done with it, enjoying new car/Toyota reliability.

Any of them will receive a hard shell roof tent.

Which one would you prefer for overlanding on the regions I mentioned?
Thanks

PS - I'm cross posting this on the Land Rover board to avoid any brand bias
