The ad fails to mention its a RHD which, with the lack of left sides windows, will be a challenge to drive in a lot of situations...

Looks like a nice rig otherwise...

Lol, the ad doesn't fail at anything and by the way its a RHD ... and its no challenge. Its literally on the right side :)

Sorry for using the word "fail" but being RHD wasn't mentioned. Merging into traffic at an angle without a left side window in a RHD vehicle in the USA is very difficult - but its possible to add a window to that side probably.

:) updated my CL Seattle post, mentioned it first thing

I love this truck, I've put an insane amount of energy (and money) into it over the past 5 years or so.

When I first got it I thought RHD would be a problem, but realized its actually better. Its the most scenic spot and in the city it makes parallel parking even easier. The side mirrors / boxy body shape makes it no problem. Much more of an issue was the 2.5 NA 4-cylinder diesel that was first on it and crap drum breaks. Wasn't practical in city traffic (way too slow). Unlike US-spec NAS LHD defenders, everything is where it supposed to be and everything makes sense.

Hi, thanks for the post. I am the seller -- I'll make a more detailed for sale ad here with more pics... the truck is in Seattle, WA. Ready to go anywhere.
First I would like to complement your truck. It is great to see a truck built for camping and exploring, as opposed to being a mall-cruiser.
And wow, some very desirable upgrades you have done.
A couple questions.
Does it have any rust or corrosion issues/areas that would need to be addressed? Frame, bulkhead, etc?
It seems you know your way around LRs, so how hard is it to do a Left-Hand-Drive conversion? Are there 'kits' available, or is it more of a DIY find scrap/surplus LHD parts cut the bulkhead and installed deal?
And it seems you have your truck dialed-in with great not only drivetrain units, but also nice camping units, so why are you selling it?
Please say you are not going to the dark side, cough-cough Jeep :sombrero:

Seconding, “This is a joke right?”
Is this your first time looking at a defender..? Most of them are RHD, seeing as most of them are British imports... maybe you were unaware Land Rover was from Britain? I also assume that you receive mail & have witnessed a mail person successfully driving at some point in your life...

Beautiful rig, perfect camping build. GLWS & try not to wreck it with that ever so challenging RHD :)

Looks like the seller was truly only 'feeling'.
A buddy has tried getting hold of him via Craigslist and the Expo, and he has gone dark.
What a waste of time. The whole 'feelers', 'testing the water' has never made sense to me.

Hi thanks, everything is built to be functional for going places and exploring ... mainly for camping/rock climbing in PNW.

As far as rust, the frame is in great shape ... but there are some rust spots in usual areas like bottoms of doors and small patch on bulkhead.

Its impossible for the body to rust (everything is aluminum including the poptop)

defenders only rust in areas where aluminum comes in contact with rusting steel (which is usually in bulkhead and bottoms of doors where they come in direct contact in older doors)

not a fan of jeeps ... started on another project (diesel G)

BTW I am super busy and not in a hurry to sell it. It was listed here by someone else and a buddy of mine told me about it. I still have the truck, its currently not listed anywhere for sale (such as CL). Too many people just want to come look at it. If you're serious about buying it and sound cool lol ... I'll get back to you.

Let’s go already!
I am def not cool, so I am out of the running. That said, from the 1 photo, looks like an interesting rig. The Alu-Cab is the gold standard in Europe for Defender pop-ups.

Mog is right, nice upgrades. Without the ad link working I cannot see the cabinetry build out, so left to imagination. If it is similar to Hesch or CoastlineCampers, then very nice.

For those who are cool enough, RHD to LHD conversions can be done by many independent LR specialists (DefendersNW in that area, Safari HP in my area) or in the garage if one is mech inclined. LHD dash assemblies are about 2.5-3K, will also need LHD steering box and associated steering components, LHD heater box, speedo and throttle cables, some wiring work, and some bulkhead reconfiguration. Depending on bulkhead date, some were “unisex” and had pedal cutouts on both sides. All in, parts alone probably near 5-6K. But it does raise value of truck in US market. Rehab’ed bulkheads run 2.5-5K, depending on source. RoversNorth is backordered, but Ashtree out of UK has galvy ones in stock.

RHD is doable, but yeah, can be difficult. I turned left and hit a car passing me in Iceland last April, totally blind spot related. I own 2 RHD Defenders with no plan to convert.

If you go to see rig and are not LR familiar, look closely at rear crossmember, bulkhead upper corners, bulkhead inside upper corners where hinges to windscreen are, and remove matting to look at footwells. Ask if seller will remove top crash pad on dash to look at bulkhead behind it. The frame outriggers that connect to the bulkhead/side sills, located right under the bulkhead, are also prone to rust. If you get real serious, have a compression check done on the 200.

Potentially a great rig that can be a DD or global exploration platform.
