Good point. The Range Rover Classic just seems to be perfect the way it came from the factory. . . One of each Rover is the obvious solution!
There is more truth here than most realize. I bought my first Rover in Dec '93- a NAS90, with a winch, and even added the top after 6 months of driving it daily through the winter. Then became a 10 year addiction of building it more and more capable off road, doing more extreme trails and off road parks. The Defender is the ultimate Swiss Army knife...
As it got built, I wanted a more comfortable DD, so opted for a new Disco, eventually built it mildly more as an expedition vehicle, 2" lift, rack, etc. and the Defender handled the serious duties.
Then, I added a RRC, basically unmodified for the classic look, comfortable ride, etc until trying a newer big body RR- what a serious trip machine!!
Eventually I had enough of keeping them all up- always something to tweak, maintain, etc. The crawling became less frequent, had kids, and back to an expedition type build with some serious trail abilities- a perfect fit for a Disco, or a more basic Defender, or a slightly modded LR3, or perhaps a RRC with moderate to no tweaks- except those nice lockers.... the options abound, and all work quite well- kindfa like all those Swiss Army knives ;-)
