DeLorme/Laptop/GPS receiver sync help please

I have the DeLorme Topo 9.0 software and I finally brokedown and bought a laptop. I'm having difficulty getting DeLorme to recognize my GPS receiver.
I have a GloballSat BU-353 USB GPS Navigation Receiver I bought a while ago.

The DeLorme pamphlet states the receiver must be DeLorme Earthmate PN series, LT series, BT-20, or GPS Tripmate. Or any fully compatible NMEA receiver from Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance-Eagle, Brunton, Trimble, Timex, or Suunto.
No mention of GlobalSat.
Does anyone know if the GlobalSat receiver will work with DeLorme? If not, personal recommendations would be appreciated. Looking for something cheap, waterproof, magnetic, etc. Pretty much just like the GlobalSat I have, LOL. Thanks.

Is the GloballSat able to see the sat's and not able to sync to Topo?

i have a globalsat and am using delorme topo - no issues.

is your globalsat actually recognized by the laptop and getting assigned a COM port?

Got it! Thanks guys. For some reason the driver hadn't installed for the receiver. Time to play!
