Diff Guards Have Arrived! Need a PHX welder for easy weld

Hi

My QT Differential Guards for my DII have finally arrived! :victory: :jumping:

The rear just bolts on but the front needs to have two small (1"x1"x1/4") tabs welded on along the 1/4" side.

Does anyone know of a shop in the Phoenix area where I can get the welding done?

It should be a quick, easy and hopefully inexpensive weld job. I just need to bolt up the guard as much as I can and then the two tabs need to be tack welded in place. Unbolt the guard and finish the weld. I will probably disconnect the battery and alternator as well, to make sure they do not get damaged.

Any thoughts?

Thanks Scott,
You are the second person to recommend 4wheelers supply.
I've been wanting to get over there anyway so I will check them out.

Oh, And I'll post pics soon!

4 wheelers is a good shop. If I were to open a shop, it would be to directly compete with them. They don't sell you all the crap that every other shop does, and they do top notch work from what I have seen.

If you happen to be in Tucson for anything, I could do it at my place for the cost of a beer.

Thanks GT!
What kind of shop do you have? Or are you thinking about opening a shop?

I'll try 4 wheelers since its close, but if they are crazy unafordable on the price to do the job then I'll find a work reason to expense the drive to Tucson and bring a six pack of your favorite!

I have considered opening a shop a few times, but it never really came together. The vibe just wasn't right. I almost went into a partnership with a couple guys down here, but in the end I backed out....it just wasn't what I wanted to do (general repair shop). So for now, I build junk in my garage.

I have always liked dealing with 4-wheelers. If you need a 3/4 left heim joint, they have 'em. If you need a high pinion dana 44 steering axle with TJ link captures welded on, they have it. If you want someone to regear your truck, they can do it. If you want someone to build you a full on trophy truck, they can do it. They are strait with the customers, and they don't spew fluff out of their pie-holes just to get a sale...and of course they are not afraid to push the envelope when every other so called off road business out there is running scared from the liability lawyers.

Pics - Out of the Box

Here are the Pics
Out of the box, not mounted yet.

The design actually wraps all the way around the diff and goes so far as to also protect the Ujoint. They're kind of a Diff Guard / Slider.

1/4 inch thick.
