Hell I'm digging his apparent use of enamelware cooking pans as enclosures.
The Andersen's ease of pulling apart isn't a negative if you are putting stuff on the ground where it can be tripped on. Better the connection comes apart easily than your wires get torn out or expensive equipment gets damaged.
Another point in the Andersen's favor is that commonality. Ups the odds that someone else could connect to your charge equipment, or you use someone else's radio etc.
The other nice thing about the Andersens is the way they interlock with each other to form multi-wire plugs or blocks. You can set up a distribution hub real easy and there is a variety of accessory hardware to facilitate surface mounting of the connectors, like a wall socket. I plan on adding just such a thing to a multi-port / multi-flavor power station in my suburban storage drawer build.
