DO I really really need 4x4??
As I read this thread I see the 2wd point of view but reflecting on my 3 years of mild use of my 89 Ford Quadravan I remember at least 20 times where 4x4 was unexpectly needed. Big rain storm in the middle of the night turned a nice backwoods campsite into a muddy bog, rock hunting down a easy gravel road that ended at a washout, traveling a dry river bed to avoid a 50 mile detour and the list goes on. I look at the 4x4 as needed insurance to get me back to the paved road when I need it. Here in Arizona I like having the freedom of exploring where it looks fun an not have to worry about getting home without help. Just my 2 cents.
