Hi, I'm Joe from Miami, Florida. I'm an adventurer, scuba diver, conservationist, explorer, and long time lurker of Expedition Portal.
This summer I will be embarking on my greatest adventure to date--the search for the Mokele-mbembe in the swampy jungles of the Republic of Congo. The Mokele-mbembe is an alleged sauropod dinosaur that has been witnessed in the region by the pygmies of the Likouala province.
I will be filming the Newmac Expedition as we travel to the Congo and explore it's many mysteries. The country has anti-malarial resistant mosquitoes, parasites, and other diseases. Aside from health issues, security is at best uncertain. So, believe me...this is not a vacation.
I will fly into Brazzaville with the expedition team and we will make our way to the Lake Tele area. I will make sure to document all of the dangers, all of the corruption we encounter, all of the drama that will ensue in our team, and finally any new species that we may find--especially if it's a dinosaur. When things go wrong, then you surely have an adventure...and I intend to film it all.
Although we have a lot of support in the form of sponsors, I still need financial support to make this documentary possible. Anyone who supports me will receive one or several rewards depending on the level of contribution.
Reward #1: Pledge $5 or more and you will receive an unpublished URL to watch the documentary about the Mokele-mbembe and the Newmac Expedition for free.
Reward #2: Pledge $60 or more and you will receive Reward #1 and a digital copy of the documentary.
Reward #3: Pledge $150 or more and you will receive Reward #1 and #2 and will get online access to all of the photos taken during this expedition.
Reward #4: Only 12 available. Pledge $1000 or more and pledges will have their companies logo featured in the opening credits of the film.
