Lorenz, Carli and Kore.... tons of info on all of them at www.turbodieselregister.com

Awesome suspension systems. I have the base system and it will go faster through the rough stuff than I'm comfortable with and from what I hear, the higher end kits will go faster through the rough than any sane person should drive a 7000 lb truck! :wings:

Yea, the Dodge trucks are pretty awesome, built well with probably the most dependable diesel on the market right now. All of the suspenion companies listed above are excellent. But for 33's, you don't need much lift. (if any?)

Maybe more than what your Pops needs.

the only thing is its nearly impossible to find a diesel 6spd 4wd 5.9

think we might buy a dually and convert it to a single rear wheel

Go with Carli or Kore......I have Carli on my 2500 .........Carli springs rates are slighty softer than Kore.........both use deaver springs in the back......

With 2" Lift those trucks fit 35's easily and the diesel works great with the tire.

While there are few 5.9L, 6sp 4x4 trucks in the 2007 model, there are plenty of used ones.

My tires are 33.8" (see sig) and I have no problems. You'll see many posts at dieseltruckresource.com and turbodieselregister.com where people are fitting 37" w/o a lift and just minor rubbing. I'm sure they are not taking them off road though. If you feel inclined to do a lift, the 3 companies mentioned above are the best options.

I don't think you'd need to regear. With my tires, I'm still doing clutch only (not using the gas pedal) starts in 2nd gear. (unloaded on flat ground) and getting 20.8mpg combined for type of driving I do.
Hope this helps, Steve

I did not need to re-gear with my 35" tires. And I only lost 100 RPM at 70 MPH going from 285's(2000 RPM) to 315's(1900 RMP). With a 6 speed you will not need to re-gear for sure.

Good luck finding that 6 speed!!

I bought a new '06 with the Cummins and love it. It has the limited slip axles and 48RE trans and it goes straight up my iced over road like it was locked. The only problem we've had was when the wife lost it going too fast down the hill and slammed into the bank. The Warn bumper didn't even scratch.

The biggest problem I have is that her Honda gets stuck for a week at a time in the driveway and she takes my truck.:ar15:
I end up driving the landcruiser that presently has no top.:REOutIceFishing:
I guess life ain't so bad.

You could spend $1500 less and get just as good or better products and 4 different stages of shock valving from Don Thuren at thurenfabrication.com The main differance in components from Don's kit that I paid $3000 for and Sage Carli's kit that retails for $4500 is the shock towers. Aluminum from Carli's and steel from Don's. All the other components are the same. Don also has the best customer service out of any of the top Dodge suspension companies. He will return call in less than 12 hours and he will ask you questions in regards to your driving terrian and characteristics to tayor a kit (shock valving and spring rates) that is right for you and your truck. I have had my on now for 8 months and it rides like a caddy both on and off-road.
As others have mentioned, you would not need a lift with 33" tires and can even get by with 35" tires and no lift (minor rubbing at full lock).
