Photo Friday.

Annie and I got to see the truck in person today so I took a few photos. Well a lot actually.

The "bedroom"area is coming along nicely. Closets on each side 15" wide so Annie will have 30" of hanging closet space to work with.

Central in this photo the lower cabinet is the sink base/cook top base. It will have a cabinet above it. Beside it will be home to the fridge and microwave with a small cabinet over top.

This will be the sink base/vanity in the bathroom. Not happy with the latches so they will hopefully be switching them up.

This is the ladder on the back. It is more robust than I thought it would be but I am ok with that as I am a fairly big guy. Nothing like climbing a ladder and not knowing if it will hold you.

This is a side photo of the tire carrier.

Another photo of the tire carrier.

Another side photo of the tire carrier.

Annie in the photo to show the scale of the tire rack. She said to mention that she is wearing a very puffy coat! LOL

This will be home to the shore power/water inlet/etc.

Here is a video of Matt lowering the tire rack.

Here is a video of the tire rack being raised. Brad, the guy standing in the tire carrier, is just under 200 lbs and it raised him with ease.

Man, that's some neat stuff. Don't worry about the ladder being robust, the whole build is robust, as it should be. Tell Annie she's a hottie even with a puffy coat. :) No disrespect meant.

Guido, I would agree on the tire lift. It is great to work with these guys as I just come up with ideas and they can actually build them and make them work.

Sixinarow, yes we are anxious. It has taken longer than we had hoped but I have to stop and remind myself that it is an RV we are building here not a heart machine. It is supposed to be a enjoyable/memorable experience but sometimes Annie has to remind me of that. LOL
They are saying it could be done by Christmas so that would be awesome. They should be done fabrication by Wednesday of this week. Then they have to take it all apart to send it over to the painting area. It get's painted inside and out. Then over to the assembly area to be finished. I think Christmas is an aggressive estimate considering what they have left to do but it should be close.

Hello Ward,

It might be an idea to cover areas where your skin is touching the Alu. wall or cabinets or so with cork, glue it to the surface, and seal off with a vernis or something so that it still can breath.
in the event of you being in a cold area and touching that wall fourniture it doesn't give you a unpleasant cold touch experience.:coffeedrink:

Thanks Busbart. We are hopeful that the interior is warm to the touch as well. If it is indeed too cold we will have to make some changes and something like cork would be thin and insulating.

Such nice fab work they are doing. Seriously. Im impressed they will do such custom work being a body company really.

Java and mk216v, we are very excited by the level of craftsmanship and thought the boys at ITB have put into this build. I think for them it has been a nice challenge and a chance to show what they are capable of other than just the standard truck body. They have always built things other than the standard truck body for EMS/oil field/movie production etc. This may be their only build that was ever on display like this as well.

Yeah its always fun to do a different project. I know they build other body types, but I bet 95% of what they do is a box. And yours is VERY custom!

Drove through BC last week and wished it was done so I could stop by and take a look! Ill be heading up to whistler again later in the year though.

Java, it is being built in southern Alberta. When it is finished we will be making a trip out to BC/OR/WA/CA so we will be sure to let you know when we will be in your area and we can get together.

Yes, let us know when you'll be in OR!

PS--what insulation will you be using inside, so that it doesn't sound like Jamaican metal drums?
