I wish those smaller RVs came with bunk beds, or at least formal sleeping capacity for more than just 2 people...

We went to the Hershey RV show yesterday, I purposefully saved the Unity until the last. She fell in love.

Totally over top, beautiful, ridiculousity design in spades, with build quality to match.

Again, not an Expo vehicle, but one we could easily see ourselves and the dog full-timing cross-country happily.

Chris,

Can U-joint do anything with Sprinters? She will not abide a "tank," which means everything else I like with 4wd.

Make the Chevy one four wheel drive and lifted about 4 inches...and most importantly drop the price by about $30,000, then they would sell more and still make a nice profit!

I wonder how hard it would be to lift ?? even though it is overall too big, liftign it would still allow more road access

That has got to be at its GVWR when dry and empty.
Not that anyone in the U.S. RV business cares.

It's a lightweight unibody van. At some point it's going to break in half. Also the dually limits offroad.

(I do think Sprinters can make great lighter weight travel vehicles)

Europeans do expedition type trips thru Asia to China and thru South America in Sprinter based campervans. It is probably the most popular base chassis for campervans in Europe.
Incidentally the demand in the US RV market for cheapness at the cost of all else (i.e. quality and durability) is at the basis of why most US mfg'ed camping vehicles (GXV, Earthroamer excepted for instance) are basically junk.
