So my wife keeps asking me what i would buy if i could for my next vehicle, since I am in the market for a newer one.
I wish this was a viable option State Side.
Technically it is, just not in my price range unfortunately :-/

That thing just screams "I'm a ********". The worst part with these special edition Defenders is they do nothing to make it better. They just slap on shiny rapper bling and miles of leather that has no use on an off-road truck.

So, it is exactly like every BNG Jeep "special edition."

To me it screams I have a bunch of money. May be a nice guy behind the wheel. Never know.

My biggest concern with expensive machinery is trail damage. At some point it gets too expensive to risk body damage.

I've built up a few vehicles in the past, and at some point you just can't drive it as hard or risk damaging it. So I'll stick to my 80-series because it didn't cost me much. IMO that was the real joy in having a D90 or 110 because they're not that expensive (in Canada) and because they're old, it doesn't hurt as much when we scratch them.

Buy a old chevy suburban, add all new drivetrain, and build your own adventure vehicle.
It will be better than the hideous polished turd!

You drive a landy mate? Ol mate in the link has put so much effort into that rig I doubt he will be stuffing it down some rutted over grown decent in a hurry. Perhaps just like the drool Landes, but I reckon a landy has more % of being used than anything else.
Yeh those landies are not much more than mood lighting, wheels, grill, and light surrounds. But I can tel you to the second week of ownership of my 60K brand new Landy I bent a sill, wedged it on rocks in the middle of a creek, and ran pin stripping down both sides of it from stuffing it down some tree rutted decent. It all buffs out. Most Defender are bought to use, not look at.
