Well I think I got the new storage setup finished up, might be some small things to wrap up still but I’ll find those as I pack it up and use it some.
So the bases of the new setup is a pre-built Ironman drawer.

Obviously the first thing I had to do was get it up off the floor a little as I’ve got things under the floor there that I may need to access, but also, I wanted the top of the system to be level with the tailgate when it was closed.

The feet are just some Z’s I shaped out of some 1/4” plate and they bolt into the factory cargo anchor mounts.
Next thing were some wings

I also decided this time around I wanted to have sleeping space inside the car, so I’ll be moving my fridge to the 1/3 side of the rear seat with the sleep platform next to it on larger side.

Wrap all that in some carpet and I’m good to go.
I also re did the water mounts to match, I decided on leaving the right side of the drawer open since the switches for everything are in the pocket under the wing on that side still.

And here’s the little platform for the fridge

So I’m just storing the sleep platform under the drawers when it’s not in use, and yes I can get the floor out from under it, is it optimal? No. But it’s doable if necessary.

Awesome, I love this. Who did you source the Ironman drawers from? I'm local to Oregon as well. I'm trying to decide exactly what direction I want to go. I was starting to go down the path of basically a bed slide with four Front Runner WolfPacks to save the weight of full drawers and increase modularity.

I got them direct from Ironman as they are based in oregon as well, and free shipping if you can have them shipped somewhere that has a forklift on hand. Considering what they are, they actually aren’t horrible weight wise, plus they are super simple and you can’t really beat the price. But I see where your going with that idea.

Since I now have a sleeping area inside the car I was able to go and downsize the roof tent, I’m super stoked on that as it makes for a much easier and quicker setup/tear down, plus is much lighter than the old tent.

so got that up there and moved my cb antenna BACK over to the passenger side again so it’s not in the way of the tent latch.

My new fridge showed up after a little bit of time on back order. I went with an iceco unit this time around, mostly because it was the only one I could find that was larger capacity than what I previously had while still being able to fit in the space I had for it.

Seems like a decent little unit, very similar to the edgestar and whynter products as far as I can tell.

other than being able to get the lid off, how do you access under drawers storage room?

or is that for blockade running stash?

Like I mentioned in an earlier post I can access under them, it’s just not necessarily the simplest thing in the world to do. Which is fine, what I keep under there isn’t stuff I need to regularly access. If I need to do something serious under there in a pinch I can pull the two drawers out and get some work done without TOO much fuss.

Got a little weekend away this weekend, dropped the kids off with the grandparents and took the wife out to the coast. Did some dunes, some camping, then more dunes, followed by some gravel and dirt roads and a bit more camping.

Looking great. My 2010 L322 supercharged is the best driving rover I feel. I've owned or driven LR3, LR4, P38, RRC, RRS (close second, but too small) and my 2020 Defender. I don't even include my old D90 and D110 in the mix.

For trails without ur swingout yet, are goinwithout a spare? I tried to squeeze my 32 inch even deflated in the back storage and couldn't fit. Really sucks not having full-size spare in there.

Cool idea for water and air underneath.

unfortunately yes that is the case, so I’ve always played it safe and not aired down too much or tried anything too crazy when I’m out on my own. Really hoping I can get a rear bumper and swing out done up sometime soon.
