For those looking for 2 meter or dual band mobiles, there are several for sale at www.eham.net.

I'm not affiliated or associated, just thought I would pass along the info.

I have never found a radio on CL worth the asking price. I seldom even see real ham gear. A lot of the bootleg CB radio, but seldom ham gear.
When I do find it they are asking way to much.....

As with anything else on CL, persistence is the key. I got a dual band HT and a mobile (from different sellers), both radios work fine (although the mike on the mobile could stand to be replaced as the keypad no longer works, though all other parts of it do.) My total cost for both was $150. So there are deals out there, you just have to be patient and then when something good comes up, you have to jump on it before someone else does.

FWIW I've seen good HAM deals on eBay as well, with the additional advantage of getting some buyer protection through eBay or Paypal.

used vs. new

I gave up on used ham equipment via CL and ham radio forums. Too many out of touch with current market pricing and what they wanted for used equipment as well as the scammers.
As one knowledgeable person told me, 2 meter and 2m/440 equipment has dropped in price as the market has been flooded over the past few years. Obviously, higher end mobile equipment still holds value.
Example, basic yaesu FT1900 rebox for $125 with warranty, vs. $100 for used no warranty, forget used.
Others, the stories did not add up, or nobody would budge on prices.

I ended up with a new radio with a separation kit for the price of a used one.
