Good job. Must be nice to have that type of room. XJ's sure don't. :violent-smiley-031:
Same thought here. Only thing I've seen for the XJ is a double stack unit.

'Mean Green' (no idea if they are still around) did a kit that put one where the stock airbox was, and replaced it with a cone filter.

Back when my 89 MJ was mostly stock, I did a homebrew of the same thing. It was tight, but it worked.

i just tosed my batts in the bed of my MJ back in the day.

I was jsut looking at an Xj there isent much room. I think u could do it bit it wouldent be a nice fit

ya, on the cherokee's they want you to remove the stock air box and use and after market air cleaner set up. which isn't a bad thing, but for Kali it has to be a 50 state legal air set up.

I'll have to look at some and see what might be done.

Always nice to have a back up battery or one to run the accessories off of.

If you aren't afraid to do some minor cutting and relocating of the computer you can do something like the diesel battery tray mod as shown on madxj.com.

I'll probably do this at some point. Bigger fish to fry currently.

Great job on the home build battery tray!

I'm looking at the Optima Dual Battery Tray from Ruff Stuff Specialties. Anyone have any experience with this company or this tray? I need to go lengthwise to fit the dual batteries in my Land Rover Lightweight. Going to finally hook up the National Luna system I bought from Paul at Equipt Expedition Outfitters.

I ordered some rear caliper brackets about a year ago and had no problems from ruff stuff. You can do a search for them on Ih8mud.com if you want some more feedback but from when I looked I believe it was all positive.

Got my optima dual battery tray from Dan at Ruff Stuff Specialties. Have to say I'm impressed. It was $78 and rock solid. Plus Dan did a great job of communicating a shipping delay with me that was related to him not being satisfied with the quality of the work in the manufacturing of the tray. He didn't ship until he was sure of the quality which I obviously appreciated.

Here's a few pics. Now to get it installed and finally hook up the National Luna dual battery system from www.equipt1.com.
