Dune Buggy/Land Yacht idea

What if you built a dune buggy in the style of a land yacht that was street legal? Had a good engine, suspension, tires and made it to where you could attach a sail. It would be great for fast and light travel. And also be great for cruising on vast desert with the sail from Arizona to Africa. I may just be day dreaming on my porch...
Any thoughts or criticism are welcome.

You would need a pretty significant mast and standing rigging which could get complicated on such a short platform. I would suggest a kite.
