E450 Front lift coils? 1-1.5 height increase

I’ve got a 6 window Collins short bus with the E450 chassis and 7.3 diesel. I’ve read about the Moog cc880’s for lifting E250’s and E350’s 1 to 2 inches up front. Is there an equivalent coil weighted for the E450?

Thank you!

For the Diesel on an E350 you want to go with the CC880S the 880 may be too soft. I would say that the E450 weight the same at front than the E350 with the same engine so I'll expect the similar results.

Thanks for the reply. I should have stated that the cc880s are not weighted heavy enough for the E450. I'm trying to find something with the 1 to 2 inch(max) lift like the cc880s provides, but with the correct weight rating. 880's are only weighted around 3650 lbs. I need something closer to 5,000.

There are springs up to 5000lbs that have the same installed height as the Moog cc880s. I have a pair in the Cummins van and they work pretty well for the weight of the van. SSC-31 is the part number.

These guys seemed very knowledgeable regarding lifting with coil springs. They were also very reasonably priced. I talked with a guy named perry. All he needed was a part number for the stock springs in my crv to figure out a 2” lift that was guaranteed to be within a 1/4” of the desired height.

I haven’t ordered as I’m still exploring other options so no real world but they came highly recommended to me by a local spring company that only does leaf springs, also with a good reputation around here.

You can definitely get higher capacity coil springs. If you get coils to heavy for your actual weight your ride qualify will pay the price.

Have you taken your E450 across the scales to weigh your axle weights?

I’d be surprised if a 6 window short bus has significantly more front axle weight than a 10,000 lb ambulance. Being an E450 won’t necessarily make your rig heavier than a fully loaded E350.

I’m running 4000 lb leaf packs out back and they are more than enough to carry the 6k+ over the rear axle. I’ve got 880s in the front. close to 4000 lbs; and I’m very happy with how they ride and perform.

@shenrie I've got a quote on a set of front springs from these guys and plan to purchase them soon. This will give me the slight bit of lift I'm looking for and still meet the factory weight requirements. Thank you!
