Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

Well the truck is SPF which should be sorted out this week. It looks like she will be headed to a good home in Idaho. This is bittersweet no doubt, but I will continue to build the 4Runner and then the Land Cruiser here in the coming months (don't tell momma, she thinks we are keeping it stock lol).

What motivated your decision to sell?

Mostly putting someone else's desires before those of my own. It's a bittersweet deal, but in the end it's what I need to do in order to fulfill a promise made on my end and it'll ultimately make my other half beyond delighted. And I can't deny that a 200-series Land Cruiser hasn't been a desire of my own as well for quite some time now. I will miss this truck but I can always get another and it's going to a very good home where it will continue to be built and improved upon, oh and there's mountains there for it to play in lol.

Gotta take care of the women that take care of us. Good decision all around, and a 200 isn't a bad consulation prize either. (y)

Exactly and in all of our years together it is literally the only thing that she has ever asked for. l'd like to make that happen for her.

Good luck! Please stay around the forum, I enjoy reading what your up to and chatting with you.

Oh for sure, I'll be in the Toyota subforums continuing the 4Runner build thread and hopefully starting one for the Land Cruiser soon. And I am sure I will still be popping into the domestic subforum to keep up with what all of you are up to. It's going to be weird being without a truck for the first time in over a decade.

Trade the 4Runner in for a Tacoma, Tundra or Super Duty? lol

I personally find it handy having a pick up around and not sure I could go back to an SUV again.

This.

I’m not sure I could ever go back to an SUV either. Don’t get me wrong we still have one, well the wife does and loves it, but the truck works for so many different scenarios that an SUV just couldn’t do, or at least it does better.

It'll be interesting for a while but I will eventually find myself back in a truck at some point. I want to like the 3rd Gen Tacoma but there are far too many complaints and those who have jumped ship on that platform for me to take a chance on it.

Have both, we do. Since all of my trucks live with a camper shell, could probably live with only a SUV if they would put the "utility" back in sUv. Main problem with ours is I am afraid if screwing up the interior to use it like my truck. No one really makes a stripped down SUV anymore. Same could be said for trucks, but at least the bed isn't covered with carpet or leather.

Too bad we don't something like a Troopy here.

Sprinter vans and the like have kind of filled that utility role these days. Personally I hate it. But they are fairly handy and relatively inexpensive.

I’d love to see another old school Blazer/2dr Tahoe, full-size Bronco, or Ram Charger. But sadly I don’t think the market is there to afford the Engineering.

That's right, I always forget about those. That and the Nissan NV. Too bad to get 4WD is going to cost you $50K. Can get a nice 3/4-1 Ton truck for that, which will be a Hell of a lot more capable off-pavement.

Yep...basic utility doesn't sell much these days. Don't think you can get a stripped down Suburban anymore.

Not sure how well a 2D would sell, our SUV never's sees rear passengers as rear seats are always folded up, the 4D makes in awfully nice to get side access to the front of the cargo area.

We have both as well. The F150 and a Hyundai Tucson. A troopy wouldn't work for me. I like having the open bed. Too many times I've used it to haul things that would be a p.i.t.a. to fit in an SUV. Or my truck if it had a canopy for that matter...
