Thanks for fixing the pictures. I'll make sure to do that next time.

:costumed-smiley-007Here are a couple links. The non polarized versions fit in there without any issue. The polarized 90º I found awhile ago was bent in the wrong direction for me. My fridge is on the right side of the truck and so is the power for it.

Piggy backs are suite too. http://www.quail.com/P-0584.008/Pow...Iec60320c8c7-To-Iec60320c7-Quick-Release.aspx

Just use search criteria "c7 90º polarized plug"

I have been eyeing those 90º vertical plugs. Would be nice on a fridge slide. Doing a 90º Verticle piggy back could be interesting for sharing a 12v source for some accessory in the back too...

The problem with just about every cord i found like that is its made for 120v so its a very small gauge wire. Our fridges need larger wires or they throw the low voltage light and turn off.

Most are plastic sealed so cutting and adding the wire yourself would be a dirty process and not look good at all, prob end up cutting so much plastic to access the base that it would defeat the purpose of trying to save money on DIY.

Also have to be carefull, all 3 of those pictures wont work, our cable needs to have one side rounded and one side squared off.

Im very happy with this cable but it seems to be back ordered on amazon now

just keep an eye on http://www.compactappliance.com/ Its been a few years since I bought mine but I kept watching and on a valentines day special I got mine 43qt for $380 shipped.

Also sign up for there scratch and dent items since they take a while to show up but can be had for half the price and most people cant even find any scratches or dents when it shows up.

Yes, I have the Whynter travel bag on my Edgestar and it fits perfect and everything lines. I heard edgestar is made by whynter.

also think about the dual fridge/freezer model its crazy cheap for what you get and homedepo would be n easy return.

Find a 10% off coupon for homedepo and you can get it for under $600.

Anyone have a solution to adding a light to my Whynter? Yes, I searched. . . . . kinda.

I posted this earlier in the thread:
16071692_large.jpg

Built using 3 AAA batteries, two 5mm white Cree LEDs, 33 ohm resistor, and a small mercury tilt switch (soldering required). It's secured to the lid with 3M "Mounting Tape".

I originally wanted to put the two LEDs actually in the lid itself, but I couldn't see a way to get the lid apart to run a wire without destroying it, so this is what I came up with. It's worked well for almost 5 years on the same set of batteries.

If you don't mind a few dents, keep an eye on OpenBoxDirect... http://www.openboxdirect.com/on/dem...fault/Search-Show?q=edgestar portable freezer I grabbed a 43qt model there for well under $300 (took a week or two of checking once a day), but the prices seem to vary depending on how visible the dents are. Mine had a few small dents on the lid, but I don't mind for the cost savings.

I paid $504 for my Whynter 65 qt. through Home Depot a couple weeks ago.

My buddy might be putting his 65 qt. up for sale on here soon too. He needs a smaller 45 qt.

Hey thanks for the tip!
I definitely don't mind a few bumps and bruises for a great deal.

The link you shared with me has the key words in there. Is that how you found yours?
I'll just temporarily add it to my favorites and check it every morning!

FYI - besides calling compact appliance, you can get stainless hinges online through Whynter's distributor, i just put a set on: http://offroadpassport.com/forum/showpost.php?p=41146&postcount=2

also, you can get the Whynters on homedepot.com with free ship-to-store. they are a few bucks cheaper than the Edgestar usually runs (when not having a super-sale type deal). Whynter is also making a dual zone (1 temperature controls) version of the 65/63qt that looks interesting (and much cheaper than a National Luna):

my original Edgestar 43qt is still running strong, knock on virtual wood - i've had it about 4 years i think. mods have been marine-lock type cord & outlet, metal handles, engel slide-lock mounting, and now the metal hinges.
