Excellent

I'm often missing my old FJ40. My daughters grew up adventuring in it, and I loved that old truck. Still doing Landcruisers, but but 40s are so essential TLC.

Nice set-up, Ed. All quality and nothing you don't need. No bling or non-sense.

Oh YEAH. :ylsmoke:

I'm really impressed with the stuff that has less to do with Ed's vehicle. Such as the Shoulder to Shoulder program and (especially) this:

It's in perfect opposition to the idea "If you don't come back with a broken rig, you didn't try hard enough." The beauty of wilderness exploration, whether by vehicle or foot, impresses some of us thusly: "If you don't come back a little more whole, just stay longer."

And Ed is well equipped to stay much longer. (For the love! THREE batteries?!?)

Here's to life. And FJ40s. And the places they can take us.

Articulate...could not agree with you more!!
and this truck/trailer combo, as well as a few other rigs from this site express that thought, just so perfectly. set up as completely functional off road rigs for the intended use. not tube buggys nor mudders riding on 44s...just a well thought out and balanced VERY compitent 4x4!...KUDOS!! and add yet another rig to the list of inspirations of the project i am about to pursue.

Nice write up on a sweet rig and an upright good man...I wax philisophical, reminiscing about my '67 FJ-40 in Africa:rolleyes: ...I'll spare you

Shoot! And all this while I was away.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I do appreciate it. But Jake is the one who really put it together mechanically, and Jonathan is the one who turned me on to it in the first place.

I am slowly catching up on a gob of "stuff" that piled up while I was gone, including trying to read a bunch of threads here...

So, in short, yes I plan on attending the fall EP Rally.

cruiseroutfit: I'll try to remember to post something or drop you a line when I set more details of my trip. I will be shifting dates a bit more into late September or October. Won't be able to go anywhere for a while I'm afraid...

:D
